TA97 Depression and anxiety - computerised cognitive behavioural therapy (CCBT): review decision - January 2012
Partial review of TA97; Computerised cognitive behaviour therapy for depression and anxiety (focusing on phobia aspect only)
The Institute was proposing that the recommendations of TA97 that deal with phobia should be updated within the ongoing clinical guideline on the recognition, assessment and treatment of social anxiety disorder, and that recommendation 1.3 of TA97 will be withdrawn on publication of the clinical guideline unless the guidance is unchanged.
During consultation, the majority of comments received by the Institute agreed with the proposal put forward. After consideration of all of the comments (attached as appendix A), the Institute’s Guidance Executive has decided to proceed with the proposal.
Consequently, recommendation 1.3 of the Technology Appraisal guidance will be moved to the static list until the relevant Clinical Guideline is published. This has the consequence of preserving the funding direction for the technology appraisal until the time at which the clinical guideline is published. At this point the recommendation 1.3 of TA97 will be withdrawn (unless the guidance has remained unchanged).
