Summary

  1. In December 2005, following consultation, the Institute proposed that the guidance be updated as part of the reviews of the guidelines on type 1 and type 2 diabetes. See the review decision below for further details.
  2. The recommendations in this technology appraisal relating to type 2 diabetes have been replaced by recommendations in the type 2 diabetes clinical guideline published in May 2008 (see http://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/index.jsp?action=byID&o=11635). Please note that the recommendations in this technology appraisal relating to type 1 diabetes have not changed.
