Project history

Date Update
September 2009       A draft scope for consultation was issued.
13 November 2009            Invitations to participate were sent along with the final scope. The scope was issued in September for the treatment of mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease, and included a note for consultation that  NICE would be consulting on a review proposal for appraising the clinical and cost effectiveness of memantine for severe Alzheimer’s disease. Following the consultation exercise, and in line with Technology Appraisal Guidance 111, the scope for this appraisal was broadened to include treatment of severe Alzheimer's disease. An opportunity was given to comment on the aspects of the scope which relate solely to the inclusion of people with severe Alzheimer’s disease.
5 January 2010       A consultee information meeting was held.
18 January 2010 Following receipt of comments on the broadening of the scope to include severe Alzheimer’s disease, no amendments have been made. This confirms that the scope issued in November 2009 is final. A table of responses to comments received was sent to Consultees and Commentators and posted on the website.
