This parent information factsheet contains information about neonatal jaundice for parents and carers of all newborn babies. It provides basic information about what neonatal jaundice is, shows parents and carers how to check their baby for jaundice, tells them what to do if they think their baby has jaundice and provides information about how jaundice is treated.
The parent information factsheet should be printed off and given to parents and carers of all newborn babies, either before or just after their baby is born.
The parent information factsheet can be adapted to include local information, for example the contact details of local services or sources of local information.
