Date Update 27 October 2011 The final draft of the full guideline is available for its pre-publication check. If you wish to report a factual error you need to do so via one of the registered stakeholder organisations listed, by the deadline shown. 10 August 2011 This guideline has already been the subject of public consultation. A revised version of the guideline is being issued for a third 4-week consultation from 27 July - 24 August 2011.  Registered stakeholders for the Epilepsy clinical guideline are invited to only comment on sections 1.9.3 and 1.9.4 of the NICE guideline and the pink highlighted sections in the FULL guideline and appendices (K, N, O, P, Q, R, S). Please see the link below to the third consultation. 4 February 2011 Following the Epilepsy (update) second consultation NICE has asked the developers to undertake some further analyses. A revised timeline and publication date will be updated on the NICE website as soon as possible. 9 November 2009 The Epilepsy (update) scope has been updated to include the drug eslicarbazepine, under section 4.3 f. 20 May 2009 The scope defines what aspects of care are covered by the guideline and to whom it applies. Comments that were made by stakeholders during the consultation on the scope can be seen in the scope consultation table.The Guideline Development Group (GDG) oversees the development process. Development of the clinical guideline is under way and is being led by the National Collaborating Centre. The Guideline Development Group meets regularly to oversee and assist the identification, review and synthesis of the evidence, the incorporation of expert consensus opinion and the translation of the evidence into recommendations for practice and audit criteria. Two versions of the guideline are under preparation: a full guideline and a NICE short-form guideline. Please see timescales for dates of consultation with stakeholders. 1 April 2009 Responsibility for the development of this guideline has transferred to the National Clinical Guidelines Centre for Acute and Chronic Conditions.
