Project history

Date Update
June 2012 The NCCs may make a focussed call for evidence on specific clinical questions or subquestions, after it has done initial searches. It will be able to make a call at any point during development of the guideline, and stakeholders will usually be given 4 weeks to respond. The NCC will approach all registered stakeholders for this evidence. The NCC may not issue any calls for evidence for a guideline if the Guideline Development Group (GDG) feels it is not necessary. In addition, the NCCs will accept relevant confidential data for consideration by the GDG.  The Health Economic plan, review questions and search strategies will be available on the website 5 weeks prior to consultation commencing.
14 October 2011 Consultation on the draft scope is complete and the scope is being modified in the light of comments received. When completed it will be posted on the website. It will define what aspects of care the guideline will cover and to whom it will apply. The Short Clinical Guidelines Technical Team and the Institute are in the process of agreeing details of the workplan including how the development will progress, the membership of the Guideline Development Group and timescales.
25 March 2010 The remit was received from the Department of Health and the Welsh Assembly Government in February 2010 as part of the Institute's 24th wave work programme.
