8 June 2007 The remit for this guideline was received from the Department of Health and the Welsh Assembly Government in March 2007 as part of the Institute's 14th wave work programme. More information on the Institute's guideline development process is available.
20 August 2007 Short title changed from 'Chest pain' to 'Acute chest pain'
13 September 2007 The draft scope is out for consultation with stakeholders from 14 September 2007. The scope defines what aspects of care the guideline will cover and to whom it will apply. If you wish to comment, you need to do so via one of the registered stakeholder organisations listed above, by the deadline shown.
16 October 2007 Consultation on the draft scope is complete and the scope is being modified in the light of comments received. When completed it will be posted on the website. It will define what aspects of care the guideline will cover and to whom it will apply.
1 April 2009 Responsibility for the development of this guideline has transferred to the National Clinical Guidelines Centre for Acute and Chronic Conditions. Key contacts and timelines remain unchanged.

The consultation draft of the guideline is out for consultation with stakeholders. If you wish to comment, you need to do so via one of the registered stakeholder organisations listed below, by the deadline shown.

A related clinical guideline on Acute Coronary Syndromes will be open for consultation slightly later than the Chest pain draft guideline. If you wish to submit comments having considered both consultation drafts, please note that there is a three week period from 3 July 2009 to 21 July 2009 when both the consultations are open at the same time.

Please also note that separate comments forms must be submitted for each guideline - according to the individual instructions. We will not accept any combined comments that refer to both pieces of guidance.
1 December 2009 The Publication date of this guideline has been changed from 24 February 2010 to 24 March 2010.
13 January 2010 The final draft of the full guideline is available for its pre-publication check. If you wish to report a factual error you need to do so via one of the registered stakeholder organisations listed, by the deadline shown.
15 February 2010 The pre-publication check is complete
